“The Governor” Rod Blagojevich Turns Author

The Governor

The Governor

Almost a month after Illinois’ golden boy, President Barack Obama, claimed the White House throne, the media directed their attention at the 40th Governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich.

At 6:15am on December 9, 2008 Blagojevich’s home was infiltrated by the FBI.  Asleep next to his young daughter and only one day away from his 52nd birthday, he was awoken and arrested.  Perplexed by the entire situation, the governor was then taken to Chicago’s FBI headquarters.  Within hours the news was being nationally broadcasted.  He was being accused of trying to sell and barter President Barack Obama’s vacant US Senate seat in exchange for money.

Blagojevich quickly became the first ever Illinois governor to be impeached. The state Senate had voted 59-0 in favor of removing him from office.  Suddenly Rod Blagojevich’s future seemed doomed and irreparable.

This past winter Newman Communications client Phoenix Books opened a new door for the ousted politician: a book deal. In September, Blagojevich will be releasing his new book The Governor. Through his own eyes and his own words Blagojevich will detail the events that led up to December 9th along with all the dirty politics that have scandalized Chicago and the state of Illinois for many years.

Blagojevich’s name will once again fill the air waves.  With the support of a Newman Communications book publicity tour the former, twice elected Chicago governor will tell his side of the story through all the major media news networks and talk shows.

From Howard Stern to Gordon Liddy, the Today Show to the Daily Show, his story will be told to all.
