Dennis Davern Reveals His Side of the Natalie Wood Scandal in ‘Goodbye Natalie, Goodbye Splendour’

Goodbye Natalie, Goodbye Splendour

Goodbye Natalie, Goodbye Splendour

It was Thanksgiving weekend, November 29, 1981 and actress Natalie Wood and actor husband, Robert Wagner, had taken their beloved yacht, Splendour, out for the holiday weekend.  At 1:30 am Wagner radioed that “someone is missing from our boat.”

The world had lost its leading lady, Natalie Wood, at age forty three.

It’s been 28 years since Wood’s death.  Splendour’s captain, Dennis Davern, has been haunted by that night everyday since.  Spurred by guilt over letting down his friend Natalie, Davern decided it was finally time to tell all about their last voyage together.  The events following her death, the restrictions placed on him during those months, and his grief had prevented him from telling the whole story, until now.  Unable to live with himself for not speaking up sooner, Davern leaned on his friend, writer Marti Rulli about the experience of that day for years.

Logan and Noah Miller, two of the film industry’s hottest names, turn to Newman Communications

Some of us rely on luck, and then there are others who have the ambition to create their own luck, but what if you had both.  Imagine the possibilities.  Perhaps you could be the country’s next president, a doctor who cures terminal illnesses, or an artistic genius with the ability to create films.

Identical twins, Logan and Noah Miller, were blessed with both qualities.  They’re a little too young to be the president and they have no plans to attend medical school, but they are the film industry’s hottest new duo.

You won’t find they’re names on the Walk of Fame, but they are trekking along the path of greatness and book publicity firm Newman Communications is guiding them along the way.  Reliving the creation of their first ever feature film Touching Home, the Miller brothers have continued their success by writing the book EITHER YOU’RE IN OR YOU’RE IN THE WAY.  The book shows the grittiness and bravado of two brothers who suffered and strived as one.  Each page takes you behind the scenes and into the brilliant minds of Logan and Noah Miller.

Without any financial savings, experience, or contacts, the Miller brothers rounded up a cast consisting of 11 Academy Award winners and 26 nominations.

How?  A lot of luck and an everlasting burning passion to be great.

After their homeless alcoholic father died alone in a jail cell the Miller brothers set out to make a film in honor of him.  Without any sense of reality the two brothers focused all of their energy on the film and day by day pieced it together.  From day one they had their hearts set on Academy Award winner Ed Harris, without him even knowing
who they were, to play their father.  Anyone else was not an option. Whether they had to kidnap him or not Ed Harris would play the role. Thankfully it did not come to that.

Touching Home premiered at the San Francisco Film Festival last spring. Since then both Logan and Noah have been recognized for their talents and have received numerous audience awards.  Book publicity firm Newman Communications has the same hopes for EITHER YOU’RE IN OR YOU’RE IN THE WAY.
